WSHE Presents Speaker Charlène Pigé

Dr. Pigé is originally from France and grew up riding horses. She competed in show jumping and particularly enjoyed training and working on improving performance in show jumpers.

She attended the School of Veterinary Medicine in Nantes (France), receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. Dr. Pigé completed a one-year equine rotating internship at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Montréal (Canada). She then worked as an equine ambulatory veterinarian in the south of France until 2019. At that time, she moved to California to complete a year of equine sport medicine internship at the University of California, Davis.  Dr. Pigé subsequently stayed on for a four-year equine radiology residency at UC Davis. She is currently in her third year of residency and is working on several research projects focusing on the use of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) in racehorses and sport horses.

Join Dr. Pigé to learn about the newest form of diagnostic imaging in horses – Positron Emission Tomography (PET). Find out how PET compares to other types of imaging, when it might be a better alternative or a complement to other types of imaging, how long it takes, how much it costs, and much more!
