The Mustang Summit and Branded Bonanza present two sides of the mustang journey. The Mustang Summit is dedicated to inspiring the adoption of American Mustangs through education and connection. Its mission is to raise public awareness about these beautiful horses and help place them in loving, forever homes. The California Mustang Summit will feature colt starting and adoptions for colts and burros. Watch as eight trainers, partnered with unstarted yearlings, create that “first touch” training and connection to set these youngsters on a path to their future.
In the adjacent arena, The Branded Bonanza will be taking place over the three days, where mustangs adopted within the past 190 days return to showcase their progress. Handlers will demonstrate the skills, connection, and dedication that come from working with these remarkable horses. While many training competitions exist, Branded Bonanza builds upon the success of Mustang Mania, created and hosted by Matt and Stacie Zimmerman since 2016. The goal of the Branded Bonanza competition is not to "win," but rather offer an opportunity for the trainer to improve their horsemanship and the horse or burro to gain the skills they need to be successful in their new, domestic life. As a trainer or spectator, you will gain access to a true community of supportive folks just like you who are here to see to the success of these formerly wild horses and burros.
One the many goals of Forever Branded is to offer opportunities to grow the mustang community, and one way this is done is by partnering with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to aspiring trainers to get horses out of holding facilities.
