Dr. Clair Thunes is the owner of and consultant at Clarity Equine Nutrition an equine nutrition consulting company that provides services to a wide range of horses, including high-performance athletes, retired pasture friends, horses with complex conditions and diseases and even miniature donkeys. Additionally, Clair provides consulting services to a select number of feed and supplement companies. Clair is also the host of the popular podcast Scoop & Scale, a podcast mostly about equine nutrition.
Dr. Thunes obtained her BS degree in Agricultural Science and Animal Science from Edinburgh University, her MS degree in Animal Science and her PhD In Nutritional Biology from the University of California, Davis. In her free time, she is involved in Pony Club, IEA and enjoys dressage and trail riding and watching her daughter compete.
