Marijke Ellert is a California native who began shoeing horses in 2005. In 2010 she became a Certified Journeyman Farrier, and an Accredited Professional Farrier in 2013. Specializing in therapeutic farriery, she has worked alongside veterinarians on many hoof and distal limb pathologies including laminitis, navicular disease, hoof care neglect and severe injuries. Though therapeutics is her passion, she also enjoys shoeing jumpers and Dressage horses.

When she’s not under horses, you can find her volunteering for El Dorado County Search and Rescue on their Ground, Technical Rope Rescue, Large Animal Technical Rescue, and K9 teams.
